Social media is a BIG part of a growing girl’s world. Social can be fun and entertaining. It’s how she stays connected and it’s how she learns to fit in. Yet, there are many downsides to being online beyond seeing so many perfect and polished images: the pressure to keep up, the fear of not missing out, and the need to post and curate an amazing online profile and platform. Girls love social media and they can also hate it. What girls need most is to learn how to use social media safely, to enjoy the beauty of connecting, and to find balance between online time and real time.

Description

Social media can be fun, entertaining, a beautiful way to connect with friends and a source of inspiration! But, social media also has a dark downside. Many girls tell me that they feel the pressure of social media to “appear” perfect and together. They also can feel worried about what they post, what they see others’ post, and the comments they may get online. Many girls experience FOMO and comparisonitis. Also, they know they are online a lot and that they can easily become obsessed and addicted. But, they often don’t know how to find balance and create more experiences offline.
