It is so difficult for girls to feel good about their unique body, shape and size, in a world of messages showing them what beauty and what their bodies “should” look like. Girls are bombarded with perfect and polish images, edited and filtered, that show them an unrealistic and often unhealthy ideal body. It’s time for girls to know, love, care for and appreciate their body’s, just as they are today!

Description

Body Breakthrough is part of the Bold New Girls Summer Collective! This program is digital and includes an accompanying video for the encouragement you need!

Girls today can learn to love their bodies, just as they are. This is how they are born. But, as they grow they are taught to find flaws with their appearances and that they need to change to look better and feel better. Social media sells girls the idea that if they just changed their bodies to be fitter, leaner, thinner, and more toned, then they will attain body satisfaction. They are sold ideas and ideals, empty promises, and, of course, products, pills, powders, plans, and programs. We can empower our girls to love the skin they are in – to appreciate both what their body looks like and how their body moves. We can teach them to stand up agains toxic societal messages about what their bodies “should” be like so they can instead appreciate and care for all their unique shape and size.
